Mystic Seaport

The final stop on our early American history tour... This time set in the 19th century. We learned about shipbuilding, nautical instruments, got to go on board some old sailing ships, and walked through the New England seaport (living history village). We had a ride in a horse drawn carriage which both boys liked, pulled by a big white workhorse named Zena.

This morning we stopped at Connecticut College and showed the boys a little bit. We had forgotten that college students don't get out of bed before noon on weekends, and everything was closed. So we went to Mystic. While at Conn, Karl said he wanted to go to college right now! Jay was very interested too and wanted to know how many colleges there are and what are the good ones.
