More Jamestown
We all enjoyed Jamestown. The living history approach was great for the kids. We went through the recreated Indian village, Jamestown fort, and replica ships. The boys got to try on armor, watch a blacksmith and explore the houses in the Powhatan village. Karl was extremely taken with the Indian village. At the gift shop he Picked out a bow and arrow set. When we got back to the rv he opened it and just sat holding it, touching all the pieces and admiring them. He and jay both also bought raccoon skin hats, which Karl picked out because he had seen all the animal furs in the Indian village. Karl was so excited to practice with the bow and arrows when we got to our campground. He wanted to go shoot some deer in the woods or maybe a squirrel. He says he wants to be brown because Indians are brown. He went to bed wearing his raccoon hat. And asked us to wake him up early because Indians wake up early. He also started calling me "mom-Indian". He says he can't wait to go home so we can build our own Indian house. So very very cute.
